The new North Texas State Hospital in Wichita Falls is designed to significantly enhance access to modern mental health care in the region. The state-of-the-art facility will feature 200 beds, including dedicated spaces for maximum-security, adolescent, and civil commitment patients, with separate living areas to ensure safety and specialized care.
Incorporating innovative design elements, the hospital will provide single-person rooms for privacy and security, while common areas and outdoor courtyards are designed to foster patient recovery through social interaction and therapeutic activities. Completion is scheduled for late 2027.
