Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative is a member owned co-op in Aitkin County, MN that provides power and fiber internet services to its 13,000 customers. Their new Operations Center is built on a 31-acre undeveloped site just north of Mille Lacs Lake on Hwy 169. The building is 58,000 SF (15,000 SF office and 43,000 SF garage and maintenance facility) includes a fenced pole yard, circulation for company vehicles and parking for field employees, office employees and visitors. The building is heated entirely by electric power (three electric hydronic boilers heat water that is distributed to a large air handling unit, ceiling mounted variable air volume boxes and cabinet unit heaters).
