Replacement of four existing 1,500 kW utility transformers within the underground utility vaults. Inside the facility, UPS, UPS battery, switch gear, paralleling gear, chiller, chilled water storage and fuel tank rooms were constructed to host all new equipment to prepare for increased electrical and associated cooling loads. It included a new cooling tower, and Genset structures were erected on the roof to support new equipment to achieve the desired maintainable redundancy. All work was done while within an occupied, fully operational facility, including functional and integrated commissioning, and was completed in six months.
